I taught before my UX Desinging journey and the nature of building curriculum from researching topics and differentiating instruction to best help a specific audience carries over much like information architecture and iteration does for web content.
For three years at idfive in Baltimore, I untangled complex information for universities and nonprofits, including Howard University, Johns Hopkins, the Smithsonian, and the University of Maryland. I led discovery research, built information architecture, and managed a design system of more than 300 components. I earned idfive's Rising Star award in 2023 and contributed to a Webby-winning project in 2024.
I hold a Master of Professional Studies in User Experience Design from the Maryland Institute College of Art and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Texas Pan-American. Both degrees stay busy: I teach computer science and cybersecurity at Leander ISD, and I design and build for small businesses and nonprofits across central Texas. Research, architecture, accessible design, and the front-end code to ship it. Band of the Hills is what that looks like end to end.
